INNOVATION // NEW CONCEPTS

These design concepts are innovations as they have been applied successfully on the market. Some fashion designers experiment with new
digital technologies to integrate electronic components into the garments, which we refer to as wearable technology. Others test new materials
that make the clothing durable and attractive, worn longer and thereby more sustainable.

Nick-Nack
Fashion design concept for women

Description

Since 2010, the Polish designers Agnieszka Nowak and Laura Leniec create innovative designs for their label Nick-Nack. Their collections are interesting for their combination of contrasting textures. The Nick-Nack designers aren't afraid of toying with convention.

Uniqueness

The first collection "Square" by Nick-Nack managed to combine sportiness with elegance. The designers gave new life to materials that have been used for sewing rather than for sportswear. The collection "Roundabout" was characterized by simple, futuristic and geometric forms. Designers united thin transparent materials with elements of yarn and fabric. Forms were simple and elegant, over-size. The main effect was due to the combination of contrasting colors and textures. Nick-Nack's latest collection "Looking for ..." consisted of minimalist and simple costumes. The collection was based on earthy colors - from gray, to white and brown. It included coats, sweatpants and evening wear as well as fitted short jackets with fur sleeves.

Result

Three collections were presented at some of the most important events in Poland, including Fashion Week Poland and Sopot Fashion Days. They received very positive reviews.
